Recently, the daughter of a Home Care Partners client shared what her family’s experience has meant to her. Her words offer a heartfelt look at the difference having a trusted care partner can make for both a loved one and the family surrounding them.
Here is what she had to say:
When we first began this journey, we didn’t fully understand how lonely and how hard caregiving can be. It is a road few people talk about honestly — the worry that never quite turns off, the constant recalibrating, the fear of getting it wrong. Particularly with me living in out of state and my sister working nights – we had so many challenges to deliver the care we wanted to.
Having Home Caring Partners beside us changed everything.
Your loving care, extraordinary attention to detail, and genuine concern for our Mom’s health and well-being gave us something we didn’t know how badly we needed: an ally. Someone in her corner who saw her as a whole person, not just a set of needs to be managed. Because of you, my Mom has been able to age in her own home with her (beloved dog) these past few years, surrounded by what’s familiar, cared for by people who truly loved her. She’s been able to continue attending church, bible study, her Monday night “wild bunch” dinners.
We cannot overstate what a gift that has been — to her, and to all of us.
Her bond with her caregivers has been extraordinary, and we believe it has been instrumental in keeping her spirit and mental well-being strong. She lights up talking about her caregiver- calls her the sister she never had.
Thank you for your dedicated stewardship and your commitment not just to Mom, but to our entire family. You made a hard road lighter. We always felt like we were walking it with wise, safe, partners, not alone, and that has made all the difference.
